What's Bringing Me Joy This May

Happy May Reader!

I got back from our Spring Break trip to Paris, which was amazing! We did a lot of specialized tours/workshops and you can check them out in my blog post and on Instagram.

I'm actually in Peru right now on a girls trip with Into the Wild! They are the company I used for my Norway trip last summer and when I saw that this trip goes to Machu Picchu AND the Amazon, I booked it instantly! As much as I love family vacations, I'm finding womens' group trips are where I can actually relax and destress.

My Favorite Products This Month

  • Lymphatic Detox Bath Soak: These are epsom salts mixed with a bunch of essential oils and it makes my daily bath feel SO luxurious when I use them.
  • Airplane Seat Cushion: I got a similar one for my flight to Paris and I was shocked at how much more comfortable it made the flight (and my body wasn't as sore).
  • Tallow Balm: I've actually been using this for almost a year and it's the only thing that works when my skin gets really dried out (especially after long plane rides).

What I'm Reading

What I'm Watching

  • XO, Kitty: This Netflix series just released the 3rd season and it makes me want to visit Seoul so badly!
  • The Way Home: My mom is obsessed with this show and I finally binged it on Netflix this month. New episodes are released on Hallmark.
  • HPI: It's the original French version of High Potential and you can find it dubbed in English on Hulu.

Where I'm Heading Next

I'm in Peru right now and I'm super excited to be heading to the Amazon in the next few days, which is a total bucket list item for me!

I'm also heading on my first Alaska cruise at the end of the month with my friend Kim from Stuffed Suitcase. I loved exploring Alaska a couple of years ago and I'm stoked to check out new stops and see more of this beautiful state!

I wish you all a Happy May!

Hey Reader, My friend and I just got back from Cusco a few weeks ago and I tried to book a Flytographer session while we were there. The timing didn't come together and we ended up without one. I am already annoyed about it. We have done Flytographer 20+ times over the years and every single time I look at those photos I am so glad we did it. They are the photos that actually live in our house. The ones that make it into the Christmas card. The ones where I am actually IN the picture instead...

Hey Reader, We are huge Disneyland people. Like, embarrassingly huge. It is basically a second home for us at this point. But every single time we go, the prices have crept up again. Tickets, food, parking, the inevitable moment in the gift shop where your kid finds the one thing that costs $45 and looks you dead in the eyes. It adds up so fast. I have spent years figuring out how to make Disneyland work without coming home feeling like we need to recover financially from our vacation, and I...

Hey Reader, The Paris Catacombs were entirely my kids' idea. I had been to Paris five times and avoided them every single trip. Six million skeletons in a tunnel underground with no easy exit is not exactly my idea of a good afternoon. But my boys had been researching it for months, and eventually I ran out of ways to say no. What I did not know going in: the Catacombs had only reopened three days before our visit, after a five-month closure for a full renovation. New lighting, a completely...
